rafting, kayak, canoe, mountaineering, tennis and a lot

Can
I have some Japanese cultural experience in Hakuba?
Yes, there
are some traditional old houses are maintained for tourists.
Ones with straw roof. Ninja ( professional secret spy in
feudal Japan ) house is there in Togakushi village. And
if you would like to experience something like how to cook
soba (Japanese traditional noodle), lessons occasionally
available in summer.

long would it take to go to following places by public transporations
from Hakuba?

below are just reference. Sometimes it needs more or
less because you need to wait for a while when you change
bus or train.

How
can I come to Hakuba?

Does
Shinkansen work for us to come to Hakuba from Tokyo?
Yes,
you can take Shinkansen to Nagano. Then take a bus service
to Hakuba. But your goal is Goryu bus stop when you
come to our place, not Hakuba.

I
am in West part of Japan, how about for me?
From
Kansai ( Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe etc ) area, you get on Shinkansen
to Nagoya, then get on the limited express train "Shinano"
to Matsumoto. Then get on a Ooito line local train to Kamishoro
to our place. (Not Hakuba)
From
western part for example Hiroshima, Kyusyu region, you also
do the same above and there are some night train services.
Limited express night trains "Fuji (runs Tokyo--Ooita)",
"Hayabusa ( Tokyo -- Kumamoto )", " Sakura ( Tokyo --Nagasaki
) stop at Nagoya. Flight available between Fukuoka and Matsumoto.

Your
goal is Kamishiro
station if you come here by train.
Hakuba
Goryu bus stop if you come here by bus
from Nagano or Shinjuku.

Booking
needed for trains and bus services?
Not
necessary except night train services and Narita Express,
but advised. Each and every daytime train except Narita
Express has some coarches with non-reserved seats. You can
sit there when some seats available. No need to book for
bus services between Nagano and Hakuba.

is the best way to reach your place from Narita airport?
This below doesn't include any waiting time when you change
transportations.

line is a loop line, so anyway you can reach Shinjuku
whichever you take. But get on a train on the 'Uchimawari'
which runs counterclockwise. It's quicker ( 25mins). If
you took 'Sotomawari' which runs clockwise, it would take
35 mins. |

airport works the best to reach your place from abroad, Narita,
Chubu and Kansai?
Narita at this moment. Because Narita has more flights for/from
everywhere. Depends on flight schedule and availability,
sometimes Chubu could be a competitor especially for/from
following cities.

problem. If we both get lost, dictionaries work.
We assure you, we don't bite!

What
kind of meal do you provide?
Western
style ones if we dare explain. A dish of salad, dish of
soup, dish of fish and dish of rice, dish of meat and dish
of dessert served in turns for dinner. A petite glass of
orange juice, dish of salad, egg and ham ( or sausage/bacon),
cup of coffee or tea, dish of bread and butter and home
made a pple jam for breakfast. No weird Japanese stuff for
example natto ( fermeted soybean ) served. Please don't
worry.

Are
there some restaurants available nearby?
Not
so many nearby. And even there not enough English menus
are available. It's countryside here, so stuff available
in big cities are not always available in here.

Do
you have some onsen ( hot spring ) there?
Yes,
we have many. Please check here.

How
can I get in the Onsen bath?
You
have to be naked. No clothes permitted on you to get in
bath in most onsen. But please don't worry, I bet you will
get to love onsen! Great way to relax!

I
hear there is an onsen where monkeys get in, is that there?
No!.
Monkeys dont get in onsen in this area.
|
|
Do
you have ski/snowboard equipments to rent?
We
just act as an agent. You don't need to book some in advance.
Cross country ski equipments also available.
Other
stuff to rent also available for example mountainbike, tennis
equipments etc.

can I make a reservation?
Check
availability and book rooms online through here.

How
can I get my reservation 100 % sure?
When
you book rooms through above using a valid credit card
of your own, your reservation is confirmed. If your credit
card were not valid, you will get a notification by an
e-mail. Then please provide another credit card of your
own which is valid.

there any cancellation policy?
Yes,

I
sent an e-mail to inqure some, but I have not gotten any reply
yet. Why is that?
We
always try to reply as soon as possible. Probably you will
get a reply from us within 24 - 48 hours in most cases.
If you haven't gotten any reply yet, perhaps it's because
our computer, server or something else has some trouble
at that moment. Or we or you mistyped your e-mail address
for us to reply. Please e-mail us again. Also please make
it sure your e-mail address is correct.
Sometimes
we can't reply to e-mails that ask something that are not
our business.

there enough English signboards there in Hakuba?
Unfortunately
No!. You can check some nihongo(Japanese) letters here
to print some out to have them with you.

When
do ski slopes get available?
Usually
at the last half of November or the first half of December.
It all depends on snow.

when ski slopes will have been available?
Until
at the first half of May.

How
close are you to the nearest ski slope?
About
2 minutes' free shuttle bus ride for / from Hakuba Goryu.

Do
you have some cross country ski trails there?
Yes.
We have the Snowharp where cross country ski competitions
were held in 1998 Nagano winter olympic games.

Do
you usually plan some parties for Christmas, millenium, new
years day etc?
Yes,
sometimes. When we have some parties, we provide big buffet
for dinner with some drinks (alcohol and juices). For ski
season , we will provide big buffet for X'mas
party and New year's
eve party on 31th December with some alcohol
and juices. If you are interested in this issue and hope
to have ones for you and your group when you come to stay

Chile, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, France,
Germany, Hongkong, India, Italy, Jugoslavia, Mexico, Norway,
Newzealand, Philippine, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland,
Taiwan, U.K, U.S.A have stayed.
Sometimes non-Japanese people make whole house reservation
to us.
